DJI Mini 3 Pro & Mavic 3 series compatible with DJI Goggles 2 & DJI Integra

Published on: 2023-04-30

Recently, DJI announced the compatibility of the Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Series drones with DJI Goggles 2 and DJI Integra. This upgrade brings an immersive FPV experience to the drone market, empowering pilots like myself with a seamless visual experience and the ability to push our aerial creativity to new heights.

In this guide, I'll walk you through the process of connecting your DJI Goggles 2, DJI Goggles Integra, and DJI Motion 2 to your Mini 3 Pro or Mavic 3 Series drone and share some insights from a test flight.

Getting Started

Before you begin, make sure all your devices have the latest firmware updates. This includes updates for the DJI Goggles 2, Goggles Integra, DJI Motion 2, Mini 3 Pro, Mavic 3 Series, and the respective controllers. Also, ensure that your DJI app is up to date.

Connecting Your Devices

Connecting DJI Mini 3 Pro & Mavic 3 Series with DJI Goggles 2 & DJI Integra
  1. Power on your Mini 3 Pro or Mavic 3 Series drone.
  2. Power on your DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles Integra.
  3. Put on the goggles and bring up the side settings menu.
  4. Click on "Status" and select "Switch"
  5. Choose your drone model (Mini 3 Pro, Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 3 Pro, or Mavic 3) and select "Switch" again.
  6. Once the goggles are in the correct flight mode, put both the goggles and the drone into pairing mode.
    • For DJI Goggles 2, press and hold the pairing button.
    • For DJI Goggles Integra, press and hold the power button.
    • For the drone, press and hold the power button.
  7. After hearing a confirmation beep, the devices should be paired, and you should see a video feed in your goggles.
  8. Power on the DJI Motion 2 and put both the controller and the drone into pairing mode by pressing and holding their respective power buttons.
  9. Once the devices are paired, you're ready to fly your drone using the DJI Motion 2 controller.

Test Flight Experience

Flying the Mini 3 Pro with the DJI Goggles 2 provided an incredible FPV experience. The video feed appeared crisp and clear, and the goggles make you feel like you're right in the cockpit. The DJI Motion 2 controller allows you to control the drone's movements smoothly and intuitively.

During my test flight, I found that flying in Cine-like mode displayed accurate colors on the goggles' screen. However, it's essential to be cautious when flying FPV, as the camera's field of view is narrower than in normal mode, making it more challenging to see obstacles.

I also tested flying the drone without the DJI Motion 2 controller, using the RC Pro instead. Although it was possible to fly the drone this way, I could not access features like RTH, sensors, or change camera settings. To regain control with the smartphone or RC controller, the goggles needed to be turned off.

Function Compatibility Information

When using the aircraft with goggles and motion controller, please refer to the following table for function compatibility information. Keep the following points in mind:

  • When using QuickTransfer, make sure that the goggles are not connected to the mobile device.
  • To ensure flight safety, use the following combinations correctly, and make sure that when using one of the combinations, the devices of the other combination are powered off: Combination 1: aircraft + goggles + motion controller, Combination 2: aircraft + remote controller (DJI RC Pro, DJI RC, DJI RC-N1).
  • Make sure to set the Aircraft Signal Lost Action in the goggles menu before takeoff. If the goggles or motion controller is disconnected with the aircraft during flight, the aircraft will automatically perform the set Aircraft Signal Lost Action (Return to Home, Land, or Hover). Make sure to pay attention to the on-screen prompts in the goggles.
  • When using the following aircraft with the goggles and the motion controller, the maximum video transmission range is 10 km (FCC) and 6 km (CE/SRRC/MIC): DJI Mavic 3 Pro, DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine, DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine.
